The Influence of Light Guide Plate on LED Panel Why is the LED panel in different color?
Case 1
When customers require different color temperatures of the custom LED panels, we usually refer to the default color temperature of the SMD LED. The results come from the intergrating sphere test reports which we can see: when the single LED bead is tested, there will be some blue light at 400-480nm in the spectrogram, but when the light guide plate is used to assemble the whole LED panel for testing, you can find that there is only a little blue light in the spectrogram. Although the amount of blue light before the two is different, it can be explained that the light guide plate absorbs blue light. And the color temperature of the whole LED panel will be lower than that of the LED bead, which also indicates that part of the blue light is absorbed. Then the conclusion is that LGP could reduce the color temperature of LED light due to different substances will absorb different wavelengths. That is why the LED panels with standard 6000-6500K LEDs are only tested at around 5300K.
Case 2
Although the color difference of the lamp bead may be the main reason, sometimes other situations may occur. When we change the LED strip with the same color, the color of LED panel is still different. At this time, we should consider the factor of light guide plate. For the cases with higher color requirements, such as splicing cases, we should pay special attention to the color of different batches of goods.
So some customers have their own demands to meet high requirements. Such as Apple retailer, specified Chromaticity Coordinates(CIE) are required for custom LED panels.
